Join the Umpire Crew

Thank you to all of you that joined us for the 2024 season.
If you are still interested in umpiring, we will add you to the list for 2025!

Becoming an HLL Umpire is a great way to develop leadership, collaboration and confidence; all while helping the youth of Holland and making some extra money.  

Umpiring will be open to all who turn 13 years old by December 31st, 2024. Those who turn 11 or older by 12/31/2024 will be considered on a case by case basis. 

If you are interested in joining the HLL Umpire Crew, email [email protected] with your name and contact information and we will add you to our email list for the 2025 season. 

More information about training, 2025 pay rates, and rule clarifications will be sent to you once you have expressed interest. Be on the lookout for these emails as we are planning on training with Little League World Series and College Umpire trainers. Attendance at training events can impact per game pay as well as post season and district game assignments.

We can't wait for another exciting season!

2024 Training

Umpire Training will consist of an introductory meeting and a clinic, followed up with on-field training.

The handout from the February training session is is the Little League Umpire Basics link below. This shows ideal Little League umpire positioning. We also encourage everyone to download the free Little League Rulebook App. 

We will announce the next umpire clinic sometime in the late fall or winter. 
Featuring 2 local veteran umpires. Come prepared to learn wearing shoes you can move around in.
Coaches are welcome and encouraged to join all training sessions.
